Boutique Awesome is a community hub for trading card games, hobbies and events, and both our events and our space keep growing. We're looking for an Events Coordinator with a great attitude, a love of games, and a passion for growing an inclusive, family-friendly community.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize the weekly event schedule
- Host tournaments, leagues, prereleases and community nights
- Supervise and support event staff
- Create and manage events in publisher platforms and on our website
- Complete event paperwork and reporting accurately
- Create content and go live on social media to promote events
- Welcome new players and help grow our community
Requirements
- College diploma (DEC or AEC) or higher
- At least 1 year of customer service experience
- Content creation or streaming experience, and proficiency with social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Discord). Include a link.
- Expert-level French and English: speaking, reading and writing. Required to serve our bilingual community and to work with publisher platforms, rules and tournament policies published in English.
- Plays and knows at least two trading card games, with the ability to learn others quickly
- Experience organizing or hosting events, leagues, tournaments or community activities
- Experience leading or supervising people (a team, a shift, volunteers or a club)
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and time management; plans ahead and meets deadlines
- Calm and positive under pressure; handles conflict and difficult situations with patience and respect
- Team player with a great attitude; welcoming and inclusive with players of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels
- Confident speaking to a room and on camera
- Proficient with technology and office tools (Microsoft 365 / Teams, Google Workspace)
- Eager to learn and take on training, including judge certification
- Flexible, available evenings, weekends and major event weekends on a non-regular schedule
Assets
- A diploma in event coordination or planning, recreation management (loisir), business or retail management, or communication and marketing
- Judge certification, or plans to get one. We'll support you.
